Product description
A silver-copper alloy is an alloy primarily composed of copper with silver as the main alloying element.
The silver copper alloy exhibits variations in copper content, resulting in a range of colors from silver white to rose red and red. It possesses fine crystal structure, devoid of brittleness, and offers better wear resistance compared to sterling silver. One notable feature is its strong resistance to sulfide. In terms of electrical contact materials, various compositions such as AgCu5, AgCu7.5, AgCu10, AgCu15, AgCu20, AgCuNi20-2, AgCu25, and others are utilized. These alloys exhibit excellent mechanical properties, wear resistance, and resistance to fusion welding. They are primarily employed as contacts in high voltage, high current relay systems and light to medium load circuitry. Notably, AgCu7.5, AgCu25, and AgCu28 are specifically used as brazing materials, with AgCu28 being widely preferred. These alloys possess good electrical conductivity, fluidity, and wettability, making them extensively employed in the electric vacuum industry. However, it is important to note that due to their limitations in long-term load resistance under high temperatures, their application is limited to brazing parts operating below 400°C. Additionally, silver and copper alloys are commonly used in the production of coins and ornaments. The alloys utilized for coins include AgCu7.5, AgCu8, AgCu10, while AgCu8.4 and AgCu12.5 find application in decorative items.
